without fail
niagara falls.
every single time i go to canada, i end up going to niagara falls. i do not even like niagara falls. actually, the traffic to the falls was worse than most days in LA in my opinion; stop and go the entire time, without a single breakthrough. took 4 hours to go what would usually take around 1. ridiculous!
anyhow, if anybody ever thinks about going to niagara falls…
it’s good only once.
no, really.
maybe even only half an hour. you see the falls, tadaaa… you’re pretty much done. nothing to left to see. except for, y’know, other falls that look pretty similar next to it.
no, you wanna work your way to Niagara On The Lake. it’s a small village right next to niagara falls. population 15000, okay amount of tourists but relatively unknown to most peoples. it’s a great place, very beautiful, homely shops, awesome bike trails with resting spots along the lake so that you can rest and take in the beautiful surroundings and vibrant nature. there are multiple places where you can stop by, rest, and just enjoy the scenery. and you’re not alone in doing so, not at all. plenty of people just sitting around doing nothing but staring around and enjoying each other’s company. pretty strange!
… but best of all, niagara on the lake is known for its ICED WINE. MMMM SOO GOOOD.
it was the best in the world. and i mean that literally. the place i went to (Inniskillin) won the Grand Prix d’Honneur at Vinexpo in 1991. eff yeah, i just googled that and busted that out. i don’t even know what that even MEANS. but it probably means it’s GOOD. it was ridiculously good. i tried the rose and white wines. hecka good.
one of the things that this trip has taught me: hey, wine can actually be good. it’s not all two-buck-chuck and crane lake (4 buck crane lake!) also, a bottle of wine can go for 1000 bucks. what?
