calculators

are we getting stupider?  seems like we have to use a calculator for everything now.  i love mental math, estimations, shortcuts and getting from point a to b asap.  is there any future for that at all?  i’m worried that this once seemingly defining skill is now used only for quick thrills.

well, tip calculations.  i guess that could set you apart.  also, quick estimations of people’s salaries (and their worth!  bahaha)

but i’m guilty of stupidity when i have a calculator in my hand.  i’m doing my lab report right now, and i just asked myself what 100 x 0.1 is.  and then i typed it into my calculator, made a mistake, retyped it, and pressed enter.  =/

(by the way, it’s 10.  don’t hurt yourself :p)

there’s probably a convention somewhere where people meet up and exchange dumb calculator stories!  mine would be one such story.  oh man!  this MUST exist somewhere.
