okay fine
hi jainah too! that makes two!
anyhow, now that i have had a nap, let’s start recapping before i forget:
NASTY FALL STORIES:
1. The worst of the bunch: we were all taking the lift up. we put the bar over and start chatting. this is a long lift ride, so we kind of forget about it. then we get to the very top, it’s go time, i lift up the bar and… … hit nattapong in the face. CLEARLY THE WORST ACCIDENT OF THE DAY.
2. we were determined to hit the box! (note: boxes are just super smooth, you just jump on it and slide and then jump off. it’s simple) so natt goes first, hits it cleanly, lands and falls and eats it and is on the ground. unfortunately since we were going in line, i was next. i just saw him fall, and now i’m already on the box; at this point, there’s NO GOING BACK. so it’s like… oh crap. i’m totally gonna run right into him. and yup, that’s exactly what i did. i had a fair amount of speed, and speared him right in the side of the head. then while trying to get untangled, i also hit him again on the side of the head… but a lot more lightlier. he’s fine. THIS WAS THE ACTUAL WORST ACCIDENT OF THE DAY.
3. first trip down the west side of mt. high. went down the steep (black?) and feeling the thrill. there’s these roller hills that are also next to the ski lifts (people take the lifts, and can watch people going on the rollers) and we went down that path. i picked up some pretty good speed, and was feeling quite reckless, so i went full speed off of the first hill i see and launched myself. got SOOOO MUCH AIR. unfortunately, i landed on the tip, didn’t adjust myself accordingly, fell backwards and landed on the back of my head. goggles and beanie went flying. some guy on the lift was like, “OH SHIT! ARE YOU ALRIGHT?!?” me: “… yeaaaah i’m good” dude: “THAT LOOKED PRETTY AWESOME!” me: ” HELL YEAH! … except that kinda hurt….”
4. slanted boxes. i jumped on it. i landed on my arm, slid across the entire box, and then got back onto my feet. success! at least i landed it!
that’s probably the worst of it. at least the ones i wanted to remember, not the ones that have been knocked out of my memory through random falls. oh, and let’s not forget all the times i fell down the mountain for the steep ones. (blacks? are they blacks? maybe just deep blues.)
oh, there was also a slight incident where natt pseudo-sliced my right arm with his snowboard. … but that’s ok. no lasting damage. i also felt like i wanted to throw up for the first four hours, but that’s cuz of lack of sleep.
yay, now i have a “permanent” recollection of today’s misery!
