lone sock
One of the saddest things is reaching into a sock drawer (or sock compartment, or sock space) and finding only one sock out of a pair. Where’s your other half, sock?! … Sure hope it comes up soon…
(Just realized this can be misconstrued as a Valentine’s day metaphor, since it’s Valentine’s day pretty soon. It’s not a metaphor.)
High fives
I want to form the “High Five Review Committee”.
OBJECTIVE: To ensure high fives are held up to a standard of quality. To retain the integrity of a universal gesture of happiness.
WHY?: Too many people high five over the smallest things. ”We’re wearing the same color! *HIGH FIVE*” ”We both said the same word at the same time! *HIGH FIVE*”...

snowboarding during the holiday season in southern california = equivalent to a day at the beach. what the heck!

I am going to throw up.
- The Olde San Francisco Creamery is awesome. They have something called the “Kitchen Sink” which is kind of ridiculous. 8 scoops of ice cream, up to 8 toppings, whipped cream, bananas and cherries.
With the 3 of us, we managed to eat over half… so I’d consider it a success. But I feel like throwing up. From ice cream. It’s ice cream, it shouldn’t be...

The best/worst present
Starcraft 2. I waited a year and a half. I was scared of what it could do. Then my cousin goes and gets me this, and I beat the campaign in two days. Sigh.
On another note, it’s real cold at home. Not quite so outdoors (at least a ten degree difference from inside our house to the outdoors) but it’s fun to remain inside, close the curtains and just convince yourself that...
Getting in that Christmas spirit!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s1iLhQRo_bs
Why does this get stuck in my head randomly? I mean, the last time I saw that would be at least a few months ago. Might be my propensity for puns. Maybe that’s why it sticks.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IDpdg9ofM6E&feature=related
And then this episode was just solid. Christmas time, everybody!
Oh goodness
I realized that the last time I posted was about a LOTR extended marathon. Which was only about 4 months ago or… something, I dunno and I don’t care exactly when. But I thought it was a year ago. Time does fly!
… Anyways so like I deleted like the LOTR extended Blu-ray 1080p files (like 3 of them) because like I kind of wanted like my 80 gigabytes back.
So yeah, don’t...

Aren’t we all “creatures of habit”? Don’t “old habits die hard”? How many more sayings say the exact same thing, but in a different way?
Maybe if we all learned our lessons the first time, then we things’ll be different. New beginnings! Better, brighter futures and tomorrows! Real change, change we can believe in! Yes we can!
And then we fall for...

LOTR
I don’t know how I sat through that movie the first time. Maybe the extended versions really are ridiculously more drawn out, or maybe they only extended the non-interesting parts for some ridiculous reason.
but… only 4 hours left to go! Next week. I believe this counts as a failure in terms of a marathon, though. Never heard of quitting halfway through a marathon and then picking...
Haven't written here for awhile
Never really felt inclined to, I guess. But since I’ve moved my computer far, far away (the living room) and am resigned to my laptop, I’m kept away from my usual responsibilities. … You know, watching tv shows, chatting online, playing games. That kind of responsibility. No, just kidding. Really, I’m kidding.
So we planned a LOTR extended movie marathon...

apparently if you press enter after typing a title, it gets sent out as a blog post. cool!
anyways. i haven’t updated at all for a long time, and i feel like rewarding my loyal readers (hah! all ZERO of them!) with an update every now and then.
so i spent the last 3 days sick. roughly 36 hours in bed. this was bad. i woke up, tried to get out of bed, felt really really dizzy (hey,...

angels
<sports rant>
freaking angels. why would you get vernon wells. ARGH. second highest paid player in the league?!? obviously can’t play for crap? EVEN IF HE DOES get better, he’s not gonna be 2nd highest paid player in the league better. geez. why would you do that.
also, 3 amazing pitchers + crappy batters and games are just painful to watch. i like watching pitching so...
all talk, no substance
woof woof woof.
i’ve recently stumbled upon something i found most peculiar. it almost seems like we reward those who talk and talk and talk, with little to back up and show for it. why? we don’t see them all the time, we can’t know if they follow through or not. say it straight, look them in the eye and spin a truth; people think you’re a real straight shooter,...
battle LA
… 34% on rotten tomatoes, and read some really bad reviews… but you know what? it was pretty darn good. lolz. i mean, it’s one of those apocalyptic type of movies, what do you expect? it was cliche as hell, but that only made it more awesome lols
also, funny hearing street names that i recognize, and seeing the santa monica pier. nooooo, the ferris wheel! noooooooooo, the...
esoteric programming languages
i just learned about these and these are awesome.

amnesia is a cool game, my roommate was playing it last night. it’s so… i dunno, the concept of it is pretty clear cut; your character wakes up not remembering anything (lazy programming. telling a story is boring. just don’t tell a story, and say it’s part of story… easy!) and then...
finals
i just took two hours out of my life to watch megamind instead of studying for finals
will i regret this?
oh dang
just realized i missed my 100th post. oh well, i wasn’t gonna do anything speshul for it. carry along, now. back to your books.
words with friends
i just won 5 in a row! and about to lose to nattapong, so that streak’s going to end really soon. but while it still lasts, let me commemorate myself. cuz i’m a loser like that.
largest number of points scored: 453
lowest during the winning streak: 344
average: 380.6
yay :D yay yay me. yay. :D yay.
unfortunately, this streak is coming to a crashing halt… and it takes me...
highlights so far
highlight of my day so far (it’s only 1:30)
1. i almost spelled MOSFET in a words with friends battle.
2. #megynkellytweets. (example: “A man beats a 100 pound woman into a coma over a parking space. He claims she deserves it. Could he be right? In Kelly’s Court!”) (example2, just mocking the first: “Tonight: Six men set fire an orphan. Was the orphan out of line?...
calculators
are we getting stupider? seems like we have to use a calculator for everything now. i love mental math, estimations, shortcuts and getting from point a to b asap. is there any future for that at all? i’m worried that this once seemingly defining skill is now used only for quick thrills.
well, tip calculations. i guess that could set you apart. also, quick estimations of people’s...
okay fine
hi jainah too! that makes two!
anyhow, now that i have had a nap, let’s start recapping before i forget:
NASTY FALL STORIES:
1. The worst of the bunch: we were all taking the lift up. we put the bar over and start chatting. this is a long lift ride, so we kind of forget about it. then we get to the very top, it’s go time, i lift up the bar and… … hit nattapong in...

hi chrissy! you’re like the one person who reads this! yay! shout out and stuff!
i don’t know why i’m writing. i should be sleeping. i feel absolutely miserable after snowboarding, just totally exhausted. so beat.

throwing down the gauntlet!
so the other day, my organization had something about a blogging competition. i kind of smirked a bit and contemplated making a snide remark about how hey, if we had one, i’d totally rock all of their socks. but then two things got in the way:
1. i suck at it.
2. it was a technical blog. and hq would be evaluating it. i don’t blog about technical subjects (cuz i no smart nuff to...

sportsscience
what the hell, guys?
i actually used to like that show. at least when they’re conducting actual science, or investigating interesting matters in sports. (completely objective speaking here)
today’s segment was just awful though. awfully hilarious. i mean… he jumped 4 feet high! he’s 5’7”! that’s 70% of his height! … wow, they can calculate...
my greatest distraction (at the moment)
fruit ninja.
this game doesn’t even require THOUGHT. how do they do this? it’s like, drugs or something. when i play it, i just trace lines through flying fruit. are there ANY skills that this game cultivates at all? how will this ever apply to my life?
fun as heck though. i think i need more openfeint friends. or well… i definitely need more real-life friends to...
oh shit, you know what i just realized? you don’t have to come up with titles. it says optional next to it. this makes me +.01% more inclined to blog. (these things tally up)
headaches
yesterday was an experiment, one that i was anticipating for quite awhile: dino’s, beer, and bad movie night.
components:
dino’s: chicken and fries. best soggy fries you’ll ever eat for six dollars! so good! open until 10.
beer: it’s beer. beer + greasy comfort food? yes yes yes. as far as choice goes, there’s a lot of variety to try out, need to compile a...
wussification!
so my sister brought up a book that i kind of want to get now, it’s called “in fifty years we’ll all be chicks” by adam carolla. subtitle: “the pussification of america”.
isn’t this true? coming from a small-ish guy who wasn’t exactly built to compete with the taller, more muscular and athletic people out there, are we all becoming wusses?...
so apparently
3 hours of sleep yesterday night! but we must factor in the effects of coffee. i’ll assume that each cup of coffee is roughly 40 minutes of sleep (to simplify calculations), so we’ll just go with a 4:20 maximum time of sleep from yesterday night. (to be more fair, the effects of caffeine should buy you a little more time than that. but also, that depends more on the effectiveness...

finished a cs project 2 days before it was due. now i have 1 day to do a lab due on the same day as the cs project. i’m on top of things! still rushing, but on top of things! i need to find ways to more efficiently manage this, so that i have time for other endeavors.
also, i have 8 am class and i’m up at 2:20. why? because i hate myself. looking at a maximum of 4:40 of sleep,...
coffee induced ramblings
hell yeah! i drink coffee at 11PM! cuz i’m baller! which means i’m pretty stupid, i guess. are ballers stupid? probably not. but since i make ignorant statements about ballers being stupid, then i guess i’m pretty stupid just through principle. what?
anyways, i don’t think i’ve went a day without coffee this past week. unless you count yesterday, and i...
hi guys
i tried to blog yesterday. honestly, i did
and then i didn’t
and that was my night.
so here’s an actual post: you know who makes interesting music? ronald jenkees. i’m listening to him. he’s pretty good. know who doesn’t? kesha.
and i’m out!
didn't blog in awhile
but for some reason i felt like it. and so, right back into proper form (as usual for many of my tumblr posts) as i churn out a few paragraphs of disassembled thoughts and interjections. and then delete it all, so that nobody can see. yup! right back into it.
either way, only one quote on my mind at the moment:
“All of life is peak and valleys. Don’t let the peaks get too high,...

snowboarding documentation
Details, and notes for myself:
What to do next time:
- bring more clothes and warm things, like a hat and scarf for your face. find out how to cold-proof the area between jacket and glove (wrists-ish)
- avoid sunglasses tan. (how?)
- eat lots before going. no more snowboarding on an empty stomach
- work out lots before going (no more of this sore shit). and not just a week before, this...

coffee in canada (my rankings)
after venturing to the east sides of canada, this is my ranking of coffee.
13. best western hotel’s breakfast coffee. (how dare they serve us brown water!)
12. instant coffee crystals (brought from home as a last resort.)
11. coffee stab machines (specialized) in quebec. these machines involve buying special packets, placing them in the machines, and letting them do the rest. not very...
sushi?
when i first heard “tako sushi”… i couldn’t distinguish between c’s and k’s audibly. i thought it was mexican-japanese fusion cuisine; immediately, i had pictures of seaweed, rice, and wrapped carne asada. with those taco bell hot sauce packets drizzled all over it. okay, brb, i need to go clean all the drool off my face. hold up.
anyways, so it turns out...
apple store and sidewalks
don’t wear a blue shirt into the apple store.
i wore my blue ucla shirt into one the other day, and i fielded a question from an old man regarding one of their desktops.
on the other hand, if you ever want to disguise as an apple employee, wearing a blue t-shirt is the way to go! (it’s a good way to hit on that cute girl that works at the apple store. … you know, if...
words
you know how sometimes you just look at one word. JUST ONE word. and then it leads to something, and then something else, and then a song gets stuck in your head?
simple example: BUTTERCUP
—-> WHY DO YOU build me up, buttercup baby
weirder example: … paying for this month’s RENT
—-> … LEASE from Team America
—-> … aids! aids aids aids...
I went to Canada and all I got was this lousy ear...
… at least it wasn’t a shirt.
without fail
niagara falls.
every single time i go to canada, i end up going to niagara falls. i do not even like niagara falls. actually, the traffic to the falls was worse than most days in LA in my opinion; stop and go the entire time, without a single breakthrough. took 4 hours to go what would usually take around 1. ridiculous!
anyhow, if anybody ever thinks about going to niagara falls…
